The Mister Lincoln rose bush in my yard is sprouting the last blooms of the season.
Three of them in a green glass bud vase on my plain white kitchen tiles called for a loose little still life.
In between visitors at the Boddy House Gallery, it's been a meditative respite to brush layers of transparent color over the paper.
