Collograph & Watercolor: Day Dreams

Illustration Friday topic: Peace

A collograph of my fave model - on the couch - resting peacefully and serene.
The process of making these little plates is really fun; glue, scissors, construction paper, etc. I haven't tried to print one without a press yet, but I plan to experiment with that in the next few weeks.
Layered with varnish and ready to be inked and printed.
Pulling the first print after soaking & blotting the paper, and coating the plate with Daniel Smith black etching ink, and wiping it down with tarlatan cloth. A trip through the press sandwiched together, and voila! (It's so fun.)
Adding watercolor to the print...
Day Dreams 5 x 7 Collograph & Watercolor, #1 in an edition of six.

Update: I've received emails asking for further explanation of this process. You might look at other collograph entries I posted in November, including this one, with photos of the process. Thanks for the compliments and the enthused response! :-)
