Belinda - I went to the Royal Watercolour Society's show last night and am posting about that shortly. Maybe separate from/maybe with the show I'm seeing on Saturday which is the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. Neither of them seem to be showing any works as yet but I live in hope - and will post the links - which I thought you might be interested in; 4:11 AM

Lessons

For centuries, would be artists have struggled to find the secrets that accounted for the compelling perfection found in the work of the old masters - their unique visual insights and the longevity of the work. However, in spite of the monumental effort expended to find the holy grail of the masters - the biggest secret of all is practice.
