Dry Point & Watercolor: Just Feel the Sun

Just Feel the Sun 4x6 Dry Point Engraving with Watercolor [Artists' Proof]
Available for Sale here.

Drawing the image on a plexi plate with marker.

After scratching some of the image into the plexi, I've pushed ink into the grooves, and wiped the top surface of the plate clean to pull an artists' proof (a test image).

Pulling the print after a trip under the press.

What a delightful, original piece, Belinda. The title is so appropriate to the image!

I really like the composition and the big angular shapes on this.

Its a gorgous piece. Well done.

Here on the Isle of Man, at the Isle of Man College, we dont use glas or perspex as our plates. We use aluminium. Our tutor has created a scutch of nails on handles so we can scrape away anything we want.
I have never seen a piece like that. You must be proud.

Beautiful, the image and the composition. And once again, giving us something new to try.

Beautiful! Thank you for showing the process! I didn't know you could use plexiglass. Now I wish I had a real press to use!

Such a vivid image. And thanks for the explanation of the plexi engraving...time to fish out the little etching press!

I love this picture :-) Do you happen to know if the dog is a shiba inu?

Hi Belinda
I am using your website as a great resource for students to learn printmaking techniques such as this study of yours for drypoint in plexiglass and watercolor.
Really great example and you do it so well!
